How to become a notary in Indiana

Here's a summary of the process:

Training and test

Complete the state-required training course HERE and pass an accompanying exam.

You must already hold a regular Indiana notary commission.

Select a remote online notary provider

You must sign up with a remote online notary technology provider that meets state technical and business standards.

Submit your application to the state

Complete the remote notary authorization application and submit the application, along with your training certificate of completion and $100 fee, to the Secretary of State’s office.
