Online notary is legal in Nevada under NRS Chapter 240 and the Nevada Administrative Code Chapter 240.

Online notary is legal in New Hampshire under N.H. Rev. Stat. § 456-B:6-a.
New Hampshire law also recognizes and accepts online notarizations performed by out-of-state notaries under their state rules. (See N.H. Rev. Stat. § 456-B:4.)
New Jersey approved online notary legal under N.J.S. § 52:7-10.9 and N.J.S. § 52:7-10.10.
New Jersey law also recognizes online notarizations performed by notaries from other states under N.J. Stat. § 52:7-10.14, § 46:14-6.1, § 41:2-17, and § 2A:82-7.
Online notary is legal in New Mexico under N.M. Stat. § 14-14A-5.
New Mexico law also recognizes and accepts online notarizations performed by out-of-state notaries under their state rules. (See N.M. Stat. § 14-14A-10.)
New York recently approved online notary legal under New York Executive Law 135-c. New York law also recognizes online notarizations performed by notaries from other states under Section 2309 of the New York Civil Practice Law and Rules and Sections 299, 299a, and 309-b of the New York Real Property Law.
North Carolina approved online notary legal under House Bill 776.
North Carolina law also recognizes online notarizations performed by notaries from other states under the North Carolina Code § 10B-20.
Online notary is legal in North Dakota under N.D. Cent. Code § 44-06.1-13.1.
North Dakota law also recognizes and accepts online notarizations performed by out-of-state notaries under their state rules. (See N.D. Cent. Code § 44-06.1-10.)
Ohio approved online notary legal under Section 147.60 of the Ohio Revised Code. Ohio law also recognizes online notarizations performed by notaries from other states under Ohio Rev. Code Section 147.51.
Oklahoma has approved online notary under Title 49, Sections 201-214 of Oklahoma Statutes.
Oklahoma law also recognizes and accepts online notarizations performed by out-of-state notaries under their state rules. (See Oklahoma Statutes Title 49. §49-115.)
Online notary is legal in Oregon under ORS 194.277.
Oregon law also recognizes and accepts online notarizations performed by out-of-state notaries under their state rules. (See ORS 194.277.)
Pennsylvania approved online notary legal under Title 57, Section 306.1 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes.
Pennsylvania law also recognizes online notarizations performed by notaries from other states under Title 57, Section 311 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes. and Title 21, Sections 265 and 381 of the Pennsylvania Statutes.
Online notary is legal in Rhode Island under Rhode Island General Laws 42-30.1.
Rhode Island law also recognizes and accepts online notarizations performed by out-of-state notaries under their state rules. (See Rhode Island General Laws 42-30.1-10 and 34-12-1.)
Even though South Carolina does not currently authorize its own notaries to perform online notary, South Carolina law recognizes and accepts online notarizations performed by out-of-state notaries under their state rules (S.C. Code Ann. § 26-3-20)
Even though South Dakota does not currently authorize its own notaries to perform online notary, South Dakota law recognizes and accepts online notarizations performed by out-of-state notaries under their state rules (South Dakota Codified Laws §§ 18-5-3 and 15-6-28(a).)
Online notary is legal in Tennessee pursuant to Title 8, Chapter 16, Part 3 of the 2021 Tennessee Code.
Tennessee law also recognizes and accepts online notarizations performed by out-of-state notaries under their state rules. (see Tennessee Code Title 66. § 66-22-103, § 66-22-107, and § 66-22-110.)
Texas was one of the first states to make online notary legal under Subchapter C, Chapter 406 of the Texas Government Code.
Texas law also recognizes online notarizations performed by notaries from other states under Section 602.003 of the Texas Government Code and Sections 121.001, 121.003, and 121.004 of the Texas Civil Practice and Remedies Code.
Once effective and implemented, Title 26, § 5364(b)(2) Vermont Statutes authorizes remote online notary for Vermont notaries.
Vermont law recognizes and accepts online notarizations performed by out-of-state notaries under its current state rules (Vermont Code Title 26 § 5374)
Online notary is legal in Virginia under Title 35 Chapter 10 of the Virginia Statutes.
Virginia law also recognizes and accepts online notarizations performed by out-of-state notaries under their state rules. (See Va. Code Ann. §§ 55.1-616, 47.1-13.1, 55.1-612, & 49-5.)
Online notary is legal in Washington under Wash. Rev. Code § 42.45.280.
Washington law also recognizes and accepts online notarizations performed by out-of-state notaries under their state rules. (See Wash. Rev. Code § 42.45.090 and § 64.08.020.)
West Virginia allows its notaries to perform remote online notarizations under W. Va Code §§ 39-4-6 & 39-4-37.
Also, West Virginia recognizes out-of-state notarizations performed by notaries from other states under their own remote online notary laws and rules (See W. Va. Code §§ 39-4-11, 39-1-3, 39-1-10 & 57-5-9.)
Wyoming has authorized its notaries to perform online notarization under WYO. Stat. § 32-3-111.
Wyoming also recognizes online notarizations performed by notaries commissioned in other states under Wyo. Stat. § 32-3-106.
